travel news
No, Americans are not traveling less. While airlines like American Airlines, Delta Airlines, and Southwest Airlines adjust their routes for what they say is a softening demand, the numbers don’t back up this claim. Only 9 - 10% plan on traveling less this year, mainly due to financial concerns. (The Points Guy)
Jackson Hole has the world’s first DarkSky airport. Teton County, Wyoming, became the world’s first International Dark Sky Community, making Jackson Hole the first commercial airport to be an Urban Night Sky Place. While they maintain FAA lighting standards for the airfield and aircraft parking area, the airport implements other light-limiting measures throughout the airport. (Afar)
Newark is still a mess. The FAA has capped Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) at 56 hourly flights (28 takeoffs, 28 landings) through mid-June to help curb the flight delay issues. (The Points Guy)
